Learn new skills, shoot some hoops with your friends and – most importantly – have FUN at the Sportable Wheelchair Basketball Camp! Designed specifically for kids ages 5 through high school with permanent lower limb impairments, the two-day camp will focus on individual skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship led by Sportable Sport & Program Development Manager Forrest Lodge and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wheelchair basketball player Hannah Smith.

Location: Glen Allen High School - 10700 Staples Mill Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060
Who: Players must have a permanent physical disability which consistently reduces the function of the lower limbs to a degree where they cannot run, pivot or jump at the speed and with the control safety, stability and endurance required to play running basketball as an able bodied player. Not all players use wheelchairs for everyday mobility. Players must be able to independently push themselves in a sports wheelchair, have the ability to follow age-appropriate instructions and the endurance to play for long hours.
Cost: $40 includes two-day camp and lunch both days. A one-day option is available for $20 for either the Saturday or the Sunday session. To apply for financial assistance, click here.
