Monument Ave. 10k training - Volunteer Sign-up

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Sportable's Monument Ave. 10k Training program! Volunteering with this program will involve participating with Sportable athletes, with either a physical disability or visual impairment, as they train for the Monument Ave. 10k.

Volunteer Training Information: All volunteers who are new to road racing must attend the Mandatory Volunteer Training on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6-8pm at the Sportable Office (1365 Overbrook Rd, Richmond, VA 23220). It is suggested that returning volunteers attend as well. This training will include information on adaptive equipment usage and maintenance, disability etiquette, and program guidelines and expectations.

Volunteer Roles
-Unloading/loading equipment before and after practice
-Assembling equipment, pumping up tires, helping athletes with equipment
-Running/walking alongside an athlete 

 

Program Information:
Location: Practice #1 is located at the Trinity Episcopal track - 3850 Pittaway Dr, Richmond, VA 23235. Remaining practice locations will be held at the Richmond Raceway at gate 14, lot J. 

 

Date/Time: Saturdays February 1st, 9:00-10:30am through race day, March 28th
