Kayaking Volunteer - April-September 2024

Welcome

2024 - Kayaking Volunteer

Sportable and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation have joined forces to better serve individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments through adaptive kayaking – BUT – we need your help!

Adaptive kayaking is one of the most inclusive sports as kayaks can be adapted for a variety of physical disabilities using state-of-the-art equipment. Kayaking encourages independence in movement and decision-making, and provides ample opportunity for socializing for both athletes and volunteers.

Volunteers will assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and will paddle alongside athletes at various locations on the James River. Volunteers will be asked to attend a comprehensive training session on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Kayaking experience is not mandatory, but is preferred.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age for this program.
